How To Set Up Up-Sells, Cross-Sells and Related Products in WooCommerce in Right Way

There are many built in features available in WooCommerce plugin. Related products, up-sells and cross-sells are originally builtin with the WooCommerce plugin.

Now a day up-sells, cross-sells and related products are the best selling tactics on your WooCommerce store. If you’re not optimizing these tactics on your store, you will loss a great amount of money.

In this article we will point out all these three important things and how to set up them in right way. You will also learn how you can make a few tweaks for better conversation and sales.

Set up up-sells and cross-sells

To set up up-sell and cross-sell:

→ Go to WooCommerce > Products and select your desired product on which you’d like to show an up-sell or cross-sell.

→ Scroll down to navigate to the Product Data panel.

→ On the left menu you’ll get the Linked Products tab. Now select the tab.

→ Add the product you want to link by searching from your products list.

→ Now Update.

Up-Sells

Up-sells are displayed on the product details page. By using this, products that you may wish to encourage users to upgrade, based on the product they are currently viewing. To make up-sells more interactive with customers, you can set up the offer in popup form instead of static product section. The offer will pop up right after customers add the favorite item to cart, introducing more options that can either be bought with or alternate the previous choice. For example, if the user is viewing the pen product listing page, you may want to display pen holder on that same page as an up-sell.

Cross-Sells

Cross-sells products are displayed with the cart and related to the user’s cart contents. Like up-sells, cross-sells can also be presented in popup form to drive attraction. To start adding cross-sells products, go down to your settings on the specific product page and click on Linked Products. For example, if the user adds a mobile phone to their cart, you may want to suggest they purchase memory card, battery, mobile covers, charger, etc when they arrive at the cart page.

Depending on your theme template, cross-sells products display on the cart page underneath the cart products table with a thumbnail image.

Related Products

Related products is the segment on some templates that pull products from your store that share the same tags or categories as the current products. If you have assigned products to the same product category, WooCommerce automatically pulls in some of those as Related Products.
